COMMENTS ON THE OBJECT :

Located at a relatively “close” distance from Earth, 22,000 light-years away, it groups together over 500,000 stars in a diameter of 145 light-years.
Located in the constellation of Hercules, it is between 12 and 14 billion years old. It was discovered by Edmond Halley in 1714.

The density of stars near the center of the cluster is around a hundred times greater than in the region surrounding the solar system. In this region, the stars are so close together that they sometimes collide, creating a massive young star known as a blue streak.
