COMMENTS ON THE PHOTO:
NGC 1727 is an open cluster associated with an emission nebula in the constellation Dorado. The cluster and nebula are located in the Large Magellanic Cloud. NGC 1727 was discovered by Scottish astronomer James Dunlop in 1826, and the annotated photo provides an overview of the many objects in the image.
Ngc 1727 is the nebula enclosing an open cluster in the center of the Full image. In fact, this image contains several open clusters. (Ngc 1712, 1772 and 1698) which were studied in 1990 by M. Kubiak. All these clusters are very young and formed around the same time.
All these nebulae are located in the Large Magellanic Clouds, on the other side of the Tarantula Nebula.
