COMMENTS ON THE OBJECT:
Sh2-27 is an emission nebula visible in the constellation Ophiuchus. The star at the center of the cloud is called ζ Ophiuchi, with a magnitude of 2. The cloud, composed of ionized hydrogen, has an elliptical shape elongated in the east-west direction and completely envelops the star associated with it.
The estimated distance is approximately 554 light-years.
